One of the most difficult aspects of moving is the battle against loneliness when you are a stranger in a new place. We are making efforts to form relationships with others, but the process can take time.
During the adjustments and building of our lives here, God has challenged me to seek more after Him. In this season, when I’m far from the comfort of familiarity, family, and friendship, God is teaching me more about what it is to be fully satisfied and complete in Him.
Looking back at the past six months to present, I see God using challenging circumstances to draw me to Himself. Every day, as I spend time with Him, God gives sweet reminders of His presence and love. The more I am in His presence, the more I crave of Him.
Nothing is sweeter than Jesus. No one satisfies the heart like Him.
When you feel alone… He is a faithful presence.
When you feel overwhelmed… He is peace.
When you hurt and grieve… He is comfort.
When you are scared… He is safety.
When you are tired… He is a resting place.
When you are in the darkness of depression… He is light in the dark.
When you are unsteady… He is a solid foundation.
Life is full of challenges, changes, and trials. They may look different from person to person but, if we are His children, we have the same constant: Jesus.
“The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want” (Psalm 23:1). Why? Because HE is enough!
Because of that, even in the midst of life’s woes, we can say, “Perfect submission, all is at rest, I in my Savior am happy and blessed, Watching and waiting, looking above, Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.”
The God who works wonders cares for me. He cares for you.
Seek after Him. Know Him by spending time with Him. Study what He has said and hide those words in your heart. Get utterly lost in His love…
“Know that the Lord, He is God! It is He who made us, and we are His; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture. Enter His gates with Thanksgiving, and His courts with praise! Give thanks to Him; bless His name! For the Lord is good; His steadfast love endures forever, and His faithfulness to all generations.” Psalm 100:3-5
